Anita Mosher

Anita Mosher

Anita Mosher is an award-winning artist noted for her brilliant use of color and exuberant strokes across the canvas. Anita’s focus is on oil painting expressions and poses that reveal the personality and character of her subject matter whether a human figure or animal portrait. She has received awards from national juried shows and has exhibited her paintings nationwide in both solo and group exhibitions.

Anita first studied art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kanas City when she was six years old. She studied with noted Russian Impressionist Don Sahli at the Sahli School of Art for three years. Her additional education includes three years of study at the Art Students League of Denver with Kim Mackey and Jay Moore and one year at the Boulder Academy of Fine Art with LV Davis. She has maintained an art studio in Denver, CO since 1992.

"I enjoy painting the beauty I find in everyday life around me including animals, still life, figures or landscape. I find I express myself through color and shapes much better than through words. I favor an impressionistic approach in my work, in which a recognizable form is achieved, while at the same time the paint itself is celebrated and brushstrokes are not only visible but also intrinsic to the success of the piece. My goal in painting is to experiment and enjoy the process. I feel this is what keeps me energized and enables me to grow as an artist.” ~Anita Mosher

Anita Mosher is a founding signature member of Plein Air Artists Colorado and is a signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society (NOAPS) and the Outdoor Painters Society. Her work has been featured in articles numerous times in Southwest Art including “Artist to Watch” in 2001 and in American Art Collector, Western Art Collector, Colorado Expressions and Vail Art.
