File0002.jpg

Brushstrokes is a unique working studio and Denver art gallery located on South Gaylord Street, one of Denver’s oldest shopping districts. The moment you step inside you’re welcomed to an array of color, texture and form produced by three nationally acclaimed Colorado artists, John K. Harrell, Kit Hevron Mahoney and Anita Mosher. Their work is inspired by their own life experience and capturing it “through the eye of the camera.” They come from various backgrounds.

John, encouraged by his artist grandmother, began at an early age and now creates impressionistic visions of Denver cityscapes and florals that have a vibrant quality, much like his personality. Come see John paint in his Denver art gallery!

Kit, wielding a palette knife and her brushes, uses her 20 years of experience as a fine artist and teacher of graphic design, to create texturized canvases containing florals with color so vivid it takes your breath away. She paints daily in her Denver art gallery and studio on South Gaylord St.

Anita is a Denver artist beautifully neat in her paint smudged smock and personal style, is an American Impressionist trained in the Russian school of painting. Her work in the form of still lifes, figures and landscapes, reflects her desire to have others “become part of the experience, part of the ideal…”

Together, these artists have created a unique, warm and friendly atmosphere where guests literally have an interactive opportunity to watch their process, ask questions and have an open dialogue about influences, inspirations, styles, brushstrokes…and anything else you want to talk about as these unbelievable talented artists are also lovely people.
