Abstractions ll Reception: Opens: May 1, 2007 Closes: June 1, 2007 Details: Stretching the imagination and creative skills, this show will be a treat for those who are curious about seeing how the artists interpret the world outside of the boundaries of realism. Each artist steps from the comfort zone of impressionistic realism to tackle a less structured view of their own artistic reality.

"I favor a 'painterly' approach in my work, in which a recognizable form is achieved, while at the same time the paint itself is celebrated and brushstrokes are not only visible but intrinsic to the success of the piece."

“Being an artist is doing what comes naturally. My subjects choose me-their patterns and shapes, their sense of rhythm and movement, inspire my creative energy. Pastel and acrylic allow me to capture the immediacy of the experience.”
